EDIT: Here you go. This is a nice long discussion on why the cap is level 20. That is, if you're wondering. If you're fine with 20, then please feel free to ignore the link (even though it's an interesting read if you're new to the game)! Last edited by Aria; Mar 27, 2005 at 02:23 AM // 02:23.. |

thanks ..
now i was wondering how long it would take to get level 20.. some games its harder than others to cap out a level. i know in this that you continue to get skills and such. but to get level 20 would take days, weeks, months, years? |

3 beta weekends. You used to be able to make a pre-made 20, but I never felt like it until it was too late, talk about ironic.
Or don't. But you can make a pre-made pVp only character at 20. |

-if you are making peer vs peer(arena) character, you have 2 options. build your character thru the quest as i mentioned above...or use pre-made level 20 character. if you choose pre-made...you can not use that character for quests. hopefully i answered your question |

You can have guild vs. guild battles of up to 8 players per team. You can also fight non-guild teams of 8 people in Tombs. There are also 4v4 arenas where the game randomly generates teams of four. It has also been recently announced that 4v4 teams will also be allowed soon.. so you can pick your own teams of four to fight other teams of four. Again, this isn't limited to only guild members. |

There are currently 3 flavours of PvP combat... soon to be a fourth (apparantly).
First is in the Arena. Random teams of 4 players against another random team of 4 players. 4v4... simple, fast, random team battles. The arena is no indication of anything. Just a quick fix if you have an urge for PvP. You can find arenas tailored to your level. Currently there are arenas for levels 1-10, 1-15 (realistically 10-15), and 1-20 (realistically 15-20). Second is the 8 person team games. You can have any 8 players you want on your team. These are found in the Tomb of Primevil Kings. Here you have up to 6 teams of 8 players/team playing a variety of matches. One is a simple "capture the flag" style match, another is a "king of the hill", and the other is just a simple deathmatch. Of course, these have all "been done", but I have to say, they are really quite fun to do in Guild Wars. I think they're all tastefull implemented and well thought out. The last of the PvP options is the Guild vs. Guild. This is the only one, currently, that requires you to be in a Guild to participate. These matches are played out in a semi-deathmatch style, with a "capture point", usually at the center of the map, where the 2 teams battle it out. The object of the match is to kill the other Guild's "Guild Lord", an NPC who stays in near your Spawn point. They are talking about implementing a 4v4 team Arena where you get to pick your teams... can't say much here. It's not the easiest to explain and once you play it, it really makes a lot more sense.

Well it's hard to tell. No one really knows what will come out on launch date, and I really don't care if they have it or not. I prefer roleplay characters, I think they're more fun.
